DescriptionWWII bomb disposal fragment. Disc cut from a German bomb that fell on Deptford Power Station during the Battle of Britain, 1940. The explosive was removed by steam under pressure. This was the first time that this method of disarming a bomb was used. Presented to Sir Leonard Pearce. In remembrance of an interesting Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at Deptford West in September 1940
